A small altar dedicated to the Chinese Ti Kong or the Jade Emperor God can be seen everywhere. It is seen here as a metal fixture on the wall to the extreme right of the pic. The bright red altars have all faded like the memories of the generations who lived here.

Kampung Hakka Mantin – Part 7

I know the intro took a while but we are now finally into the village proper. The abandoned and dilapidated homes inside are mysterious, intriguing and silently creepy. Some are seemingly deserted but yet there is fresh laundry hanging outside. I wasn’t able to knock on doors and to inquire. Neither did I see people. I’ll come back when my walking gets better.

This time, a Methodist church, also on the main road.

Photography Tip: Since the floor is not level, I turned on framing guidelines under settings. It allowed me to keep the verticals and horizontals aligned. This saved much time that may be required to fix crooked framing later.
