Finding A Hotel In An Emergency,

Finding A Hotel In An Emergency,

Some taxi hailing services were criticised for exploitative surge pricing following the London Bridge terror attack. I am curious as to how hotels in an affected city respond to a crisis. After all, in a modern booking system, where rates are adjusted dynamically this can be monitored. This is not a scientific test as no business will show their price before increase or the upward percentages, if any. Price increases are understandable during a natural disaster though.

For example, I saw many hotels shuttered during the annual monsoonal floods. Price surged when supply was reduced. Some continue to operate by hiring electric generators. Online booking becomes unavailable with internet services cut off. Many staff were also stranded at relief centers or stuck at home when roads became inaccessible. In some places the lobbies were covered or submerged in mud. How can they accept credit cards when there were no phone lines to do authorization or how can they provide you with potable water when everything is cut? It was strictly walk in or boat in,

So who goes to a hotel in a city facing a terror attack or disaster? Many journalists, first responders, investigators, emergency rescuers and public who got caught up unexpectedly or were stranded due to lack of transport, curfew and other unforeseen circumstances.

In a war, a hotel can be a temporary safe haven or shelter. But not always as hostile forces may target it. Melbourne was under terror-linked siege a few hours ago. since deals and offers are dynamically generated according to current day, let’s see how Melbourne hotel prices fare here:

Got Discount Or Not Ah?

Sometimes when I try to promote my hotel booking site to a friend, and the friend will ask “can I get discounts?” That’s a very typical Malaysian response. Not just about value but friends must always give discounts, it seems.

I love to give you a discount but it is not within my control. I understand the sentiment and the desire to get maximum value as a Malaysian myself. That is why I recently launched the Hotel Deals Finder feature.

For each city featured, you can find special discounts and reduced room rates for certain properties. Save up to 50 % or more, where available. It depends on the deals made by the hotels and my affiliate partner and are subject to availability and booking dates.

I am trying out the Deals feature and am kicking off with discounted rates for hotels or deals in some of the destinations popular with Malaysians. However, any one from anywhere in the world can enjoy the discounts.

Look for the deals index by clicking Holel Deals Finder link on the sidebar. So far, the initial cities are Bandar Seri Begawan | Bangkok | Borobudur | Bromo Cameron Highlands | Hanoi | Ho Chi Minh City | Hong Kong | Jakarta | Johor Bahru | Kathmandu | Kota Kinabalu | Kuala Lumpur | Kuching | Kuta | Melaka | Penang | Phnom Penh | Siem Reap | Singapore | Ubud .

These are some of the destinations popular with Malaysians. I hope to include hotels in Taiwan, Korea and Japan soon. It is tough work and as luck would have it, I suffered an Internet outage over the weekend, slowing down the building of more pages.

You can use built-in Hotel Search and you’ll probably find some existing deals or flash sale. For your convenience, I’ll add more cities. as we go along and as I gauge usage and understand the algo better. Thank you for your support. Contact me directly, should you need help.

Since I am so tired, I didn’t use Photoshop to build a collage. Tip: I merely screen capture the directory thumbs view generated by the excellent and free Faststone Image Viewer. I like that it looked natively like cardboard-mounted travel slides from film days. Start here for discounts: http://www.mycen.my/ #mycenhotels #hotels #discounts #deals #rooms #travel

Hotels In Seremban

When I was in Seremban, I drove around the suburb town of Taman AST where I saw so many pubs, bars and nightclubs. Seemed like the capital of debauchery in Seremban.

Similarly, Kuala Lumpur has the Jalan P Ramlee area where gullible white male tourists fall n love with transvestite night workers and send a text to his mother the next day. “Mom, I fell in love with the girl of my dreams and may marry her” One Brit did.

.Anyway in the center of AST, I saw a huge building named Wisma CK or City Kingdom. I thought it was a Mega Church at first. Driving closer, I saw it advertising a convention hall and ballroom from outside but strangely there was no indication it is also a hotel  – the Fame Hotel inside. We KLites know so little about hotels in Seremban because KL city is so near and we can drive home or drive to the beach hotels of Port Dickson or PD.

I have only stayed at the Seri Malaysia hotel in Seremban previously and it was moldy and aging .There was also the Allson Hotel that changed its name so many times I don’t know its name anymore. It is now the Klana Resort Seremban, as I was to find out. Many new hotels have came about since. Many are in the new satellite township of Seremban 2.

Hometown Colours

Hometown Colours.

Rain falls on the parched road of tiny Sungai Mati town. The town of Dead River used to be a bustling river port. It was so named because it became an oxbow lake or billabong after breaking from the Muar River. Located on the outskirts of Muar town.

It is not my hometown and I stopped here while I was going to Muar for a holiday. Stopped because the colours were so striking. It was also on this trip, I discovered there is a bridge which Muarians call the Penang Bridge. Confusingly, the official name is also very original as in Jambatan Kedua. WTFish? Haha.

Incidentally, I received a second booking for the new Muo Boutique Hotel by an unknown person for the Hari Raya period again. If you are planning to book a hotel for the “balik kampung” trip ahead, please do so early. It is getting to be a common practice and people do it for various reasons. Many small town hotels are understandably small and have limited rooms.

MyCen Hotels should have a hotel listed or searchable for every town. Let me know, if you have difficulty finding one for your destination. Contact me and I will try to help you find one.
