Beaches For Your Sunset Pics – Part 2

Beaches For Your Sunset Pics – Part 2.

Next up on the sunset beaches series is the sneakily named Pantai Redang in Sekinchan. On a part of Redang Beach less trodden, is an isolated corner I called the Graveyard Of Fishing Vessels. Hauntingly beautiful and off the beaten track.

The skeletal remains of retired fishing boats are laid bare during low tide. I love this swampy coast in northern Selangor. When the light and clouds mashed up crazily, the land and seascape exudes a post-apocalyptic feel. Eerie and awesome.

Beaches For Your Sunset Pics – Part 1b

Beaches For Your Sunset Pics – Part 1b.

If you noticed. I named this Part1b because it is an unplanned inclusion of another Morib beach sunset view. It is the silhouette pic of my friend. the shapely and beautiful Sarawakian, Elisha.

Sunsets can be great for silhouettes. It is also photographed from the Morib Esplanade, as with the previous beach pic.but on a different day.

Don’t worry if you arrived late at the beach, It is the afterglow of various hues that is magical. Many people leave the minute the sun drops below the horizon. Don’t and you will be rewarded.

The Sun Sets Early At Victoria Harbour

The sun sets very early in Hong Kong during winter season. It was November when I was there. If I am not mistaken, it was only 6 pm local time. We were at Victoria Harbour and a Malaysian Star Cruise ocean liner or cruise ship was docked there. What a lovely coincidence.

The harbour and glittering skyline are a magnet for photographers. Almost missed the sunset as Kuala Lumpur’s golden hour is comparatively late at 7:30 pm usually. It was like going to Sabah for the first time to find the sun setting earlier. By 7:50 pm, Hong Kong sky would have been pitch black. What do you say Hong Kong friend Sam Chan and other HK residents?

All That Glitters Is Gold

The stretch between Morib Beach and the luxurious AVANI Sepang resort in Bagan Lallang was branded as the Gold Coast of Selangor. For me the true beauty of the Gold Coast is at this section where mangrove trees appear half sunken during the sea’s low tide.

Under a golden sunset, all that glitters is gold, especially to someone appreciative of nature. I love the haunting and eerie silence of the submerged trees when contrasted with the the noisy birds flying above the swamps.

Unusual to see so many crows here. Crows are scavengers but not marine birds. Maybe the low tide exposes food. One of them, in mid flight, looked like it had a fish hanging from its beak. I took the Sony A7R out from the bag as it has the rapid firing capability needed for this scene.

This corner is a true eco tourism gem that is overlooked and not promoted. Look for gold yourself at the Gold Coast.
