Lotus Villa Hua Hin

They say give priority to your friends, first. I have a another interesting hotel following me on Instagram. That is the Villa Lotus Hotel Hua Hin @villalotus on IG. It is also known as Lotus Villas & Resort Hua Hin. Before this, I know little of Hua Hin. Like many Malaysians, I only know Bangkok, Chengmai, Phuket, Pattaya and Hat Yai or those places frequently visited by Malaysians. Regular travelers will know you don’t want to go on a holiday to a town full of people from your own country.

Hua Hin seems like a nice, little known destination. So far, I have only seen my FB friend Lingli Tan posting from this resort town.

From Wikipedia: Hua Hin is a seaside resort on the Gulf of Thailand, in the southern Thai province of Prachuap Khiri Khan. Once a quiet fishing village, it grew into a fashionable escape for residents of Bangkok after the 1920s, when the Thai royal family built summer palaces here. Hua Hin Beach, popular for kitesurfing and other water sports, is the main stretch of sand, lined with high-end hotels and seafood shacks.

Lotus Villas & Resort HuaHin features a 40 m long and 1.7 m deep outdoor pool and a fitness centre. It offers guest rooms and private villas with modern facilities with either a spa bath or a private pool. Free WiFi is available throughout the resort. The property provides free scheduled shuttle service to Hua Hin Centre, Hua Hin Beach and the Clock Tower. Hua Hin Night Market is within a 15-minute drive from Lotus Villas & Resort. It is a 20-minute drive from Floating Market and Black Mountain Water Park. Bangkok City is a 3-hours’ ride away.

Book the Villa Lotus here by Agoda or Booking.com.

The Gold Coast Model

My former colleague and long time friend, the statuesque Simp Lee sent me a bunch of pics she took at the Avani Goldcoast Sepang, where she recently stayed and was a happy camper. Thank you, Simp. She’s regularly seen in television commercials, is also a model, a yogi, homemaker, chef and was the beautiful Mrs Asia Supreme Earth 2015. As I discussed with Penang advertising legend Kenny Song many years ago, the water on the West coast of peninsular Malaysia, be it Penang, Pangkor or Langkawi, is rarely cobalt blue unlike the oceans of the east coast islands and in Borneo. The resort provides electric golf carts to transport guests and luggage to the far flung chalets. The palm shaped and branched out chalets of the Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort was featured and can also be booked through here: http://www.mycen.my/avani-sepang-goldcoast-resort/ All pics here copyright and owned by Simp Lee. Need Your Support

Since my hospitalization last year, I have been trying to develop a new revenue stream to be financially independent. Getting revenue from usual source is a struggle and that was why you saw me pleading for help for me and my cats. Many kind and generous people did help and I appreciate it greatly.

Many photography related websites rely on an affiliate partnership with an online camera store located in the US. It will be tough as our currency’s value is diminishing and the shipping costs from the US are astronomical.

I thought about it and think a hotel and accommodation booking partnership may be better.

Everyone seems to travel nowadays. I recently signed up as an affiliate partner with Agoda since I have so much travel and geographical related content on the web. If you travel, be it for business or leisure. you will usually need to book a hotel in advance. I know many of you travel regularly both for business and leisure.

Be it a weekend trip to Penang, a trip to Nepal or Japan or even a trip to London or Paris. Last I checked. Agoda has over 500,525 hotels that are located in every corner of the world.

I have used them myself when I traveled preciously. It is reliable, is competitively priced and used by millions.

No matter where you are going, why not help me out at the same time by booking through the Agoda links at my page.

No obligations and I will get a small commission and it won’t affect your rate. You probably might get a cheaper price because of ongoing promotions. I won’t know who booked what and where. I won’t have my commission registered until you checked out. It will be nice if you let me know you did but it is completely optional and all up to you.

Thank you for your support and for helping out. Bookmark or save the link or this post or if you lose the link, please PM me to ask.

If you forget the url you can go to www.mycen.my and find the link on the sidebar of any page there. You can book from anywhere in the world to anywhere, as long as you have a valid credit or debit card.

It is my first time trying out such a venture and may not have the answers to all your questions. Feel free to ask me and I will direct your questions to Agoda if necessary.

I am still learning the ropes and will improve its implementation where possible.

Wish me luck and thank you for your support. I am kicking off this announcement with a suggestion to book Avani Goldcoast Sepang since I was featuring the gold coast in recent days.

Here is also a dedicated page where you can book or see the location of Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort. Didn’t realise it looks so beautiful on a map too:

Our Own Kokomo

Aruba, Jamaica, ooh I want to take ya
Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama
Key Largo, Montego, baby why don’t we go, Jamaica

Off the Florida Keys, there’s a place called Kokomo
That’s where you want to go to get away from it all
Bodies in the sand, tropical drink melting in your hand
We’ll be falling in love to the rhythm of a steel drum band
Down in Kokomo

~ The Beach Boys

From the Pasir Gudang Kite Flying site, we drove down to isolated Desaru beach where Sharon indulged in her favorite macro photography on the beach. I just enjoy the view; the peaceful casuarina trees, the swaying palms, the gentle pounding of waves and the fine sand on my feet. This is life! Didn’t we get enough wind at Pasir Gudang? Haha.

Not many girls will enjoy macro photography because one needs to get one’s hands and knees dirty. It is tough work plus most girls dont like looking at bugs upclose.

The Balcony

I think a hipster will trade his or her mason jar lamp (with the coffee filter shade) for a chance to do a selfie or a yoga pose on this balcony. Every fitting is intentionally hipsterish. The furniture is chicken (wire) coop style, similar to those found in KLPAC grounds or in Publika. Don’t ask me about the significance of that rusted and cracked wok (kuali) on the floor, though. Lol.

It is a shame that the place is categorised as luxury camping or glamour camping (glamping) though. Is more than that. Strip away all the pretensions, it is a resort hotel (minus all the staff). Taken as a whole, I found the appeal to be the subtle landscaping and blending with its environment.

Sure; there are creature comforts such as hot shower, a toilet bowl, coffee machine and a pool but then that’s what concrete jungle people expect when they pay RM 700 or more a night, I guess.

Standing on the balcony, I felt as if I was the conductor of an orchestra where the musicians were tireless birds and insects. To each, his or her own. For me; it was hearing nature’s symphony and seeing random leaves drift gently from trees. That was priceless.
